Cosmic Coconut: #VeganLife
People are trying to eat healthy. It’s fine to stop by Whole Foods once and a while, but when vegan restaurants start popping up, the health craze is more than just that.
Cosmic Coconut is a vegan restaurant that caters to those who want to find an alternative to cooking vegan at home.
“The Cosmic Coconut is an all vegan juice bar, and we also serve vegan food. We make vegan smoothies and juices. Everything is pretty much organic. We do minimally process things, but it’s still very healthy. You don’t find a lot of high sugar things here, so it’s generally like a healthy place to eat,” employee Linsey Smith stated.
When you walk into the Cosmic Coconut, you really don’t know what’s about to hit you. Sure enough, as soon as you open the door, a very strong banana/cilantro smell smacks you in the face.
This restaurant purchases local and organic fruits and vegetables whenever possible. By doing so, they also support the community.
The general atmosphere in the place gives off a very fresh feeling. The bright colors in the restaurant, the small book section in the corner, or even the chalkboard menu that covers an entire wall give this restaurant a sense of identity. All in all, it makes you feel welcome.
“When I come here I feel energized vibrant, bright, and funky. The food here is pretty good,” customer Ty Thomas stated.
It was recommended that I try the Cosmic Quinoa Burger and the Chocolate Covered Almond smoothie. The burger was not bad at all. It was basically just a black bean burger with spinach and avocado spread. While I really liked the flavor of the burger, it was difficult trying to keep it together. The smoothie tasted exactly like its name-a chocolate covered almond. The smell wasn’t particularly bad, but the taste grew on me.
The service there was great. The bright-eyed employees were nice and friendly. Also, they were quite knowledgeable about the food they serving, and their attitudes made you want to eat the food.
For my overall experience I would give Cosmic Coconut a solid 8 out of 10 stars.
The prices of the restaurant are not high, so the cost of freshness doesn’t kill your budget. If you ever want to check this place out, they’re located on 5101 Sanderlin Ave Suite 104b. They are open Mondays through Saturdays 8 am -7pm.
