Connie Thompson
Q: What subject do you teach?
A: I teach standard Biology classes all day long…so it’s a long day!
Q: Did you teach at a school before coming to Germantown?
A: Yes I did. I taught at Millington High School for 13 years and prior to that I taught in Arkansas for 10 years.
Q: How do you like Germantown so far and how does it compare to your past school?
A: I guess one of the largest differences would be the size of Germantown and how the population of the students is much larger. And one of the cons is how long it’s going to take me to get to know all the faculty members that are here! Because you’re kind of isolated, you know, in one building, but the people that I work with in the building are very helpful. The veteran teachers have been very helpful in helping me make the adjustment from Millington to Germantown, so I’ve very happy here at Germantown.
Q: What was your teaching inspiration?
A: That goes way, way back in time because when I was in school I went to a very tiny school in Arkansas…We had one teacher who taught all of the subjects and he was just an amazing teacher. He inspired me to continue in college with a biology degree to teach.
