There is definitely a struggle during sophomore year in high school, no longer the new guy or the one ready to graduate.
“This year is way harder than last year and I really have to study more and focus on my grades,” sophomore Alana Branch said.
Other sophomores agreed.
“This is my first year taking honors classes and it's way harder, but I know it will be worth it in the end,” sophomore Nolan Sledge said.
The one positive for many sophomores to alleviate some of the anxiety involves the future of Germantown High, especially all of the new classes that will be available next year, which include a multitude of different advanced placement classes such as Chemistry, World History, Statistics, etc.
“I can't wait for next year; I'm happy we will be getting a different variety of classes,” sophomore Ashlan Daniels said.
While sophomores have a lot to look forward to, some seniors have some advice for sophomores as they continue forward.
Senior Olivia Kanadet said, “Don't procrastinate, get out of that habit while you can.”
Also, with the new offerings next year, one senior’s regret could help an undecided sophomore about taking on one of the new options for next year.
“I would have taken more honors classes,” senior MyOcea Dixon said.
While the school year is wrapping up, all students should take one piece of advice.
“Have fun and cherish your high school moments while you can,” senior Bobby Collins said.
