Most would agree that their style freshmen year is not up to par with today’s fashion and is quite embarrassing when looking back on it.
Styles have changed tremendously from the makeup girls wear to the way they have their hair and nails.
“Stiletto nails and eyebrows are a big deal now,” said senior Elizabeth Wisdom.
A change also can be found in makeup as trends today show that less is more.
“I use to wear a full face of makeup to school freshman and sophomore year and now I can’t remember the last time I wore makeup to school. The natural look is what everyone goes for now,” stated senior Caroline Rabiner.
Trends also transitioned when it came to footwear.
“As a freshman the most popular shoes were Sperrys and Wallabees but now all you see are Chacos. They are comfortable and easy to put on,” said Rabiner.
In addition to shoes, most girls really take pride in the purses that they carry.
“It went from wearing Coach to Michael Kors,” stated Wisdom.
For boys, the fashion focus is different.
“Freshman year almost everyone had a low haircut; now all the guys have hair on their heads,” stated senior Joshua Blocker.
And as for clothes, styles even for guys come and go.
“Hollister was also a big thing for guys freshman year now people hardly wear it,” said Joshua Blocker.
When it comes down to it, the styles may not have been what ultimately changed; with age comes worrying less what others see in one’ own style and just being comfortable in one’s own skin, not matter what covers it.
“I will come to school in my pajamas if they look decent,” said senior Amira Abdella.
