Germantown High has a lot of new teachers this year, one of them being 10th grade English
teacher Felicia Munn. This is a whole new experience for her because it’s her first year teaching high
school students.
“High schoolers are better engaged. They realize that they really need to be on task and get
prepared for college so they’re hungry. They want to know what’s going to be on the EOC test and how
they can pass the ACT test and that’s what makes me excited about teaching,” stated Munn.
Q: What school did you teach at before you came to Germantown High?
A: I taught at Treadwell Middle School. It is in the Highland Heights area near University of Memphis.
Q: What do you like about teaching?
A: I love getting students excited about English, especially those who previously thought English was
boring. I love showing them how they can get enriched through words.
Q: How long have you been teaching?
A: I’ve been teaching since 2007.
Q: How do you like Germantown High School?
A: I couldn’t be in a better place.
