Spring Break Plans
Spring Break will provide students at Germantown lots of opportunities to venture away from the GHS campus.
Some students plan to leave not only Germantown, but also the United States.
Senior Victoria Kirkland’s plans include a trip to Haiti.
“I’m so excited because I have never been out of the country, and I will be gone from March 10 until March 14,” Kirkland said. “I will be going with Bellevue and we will be doing Vacation Bible School, doing fun activities with the kids and also helping build local churches,” stated Victoria.
Libby Bouck, GHS senior, will be traveling to Italy and France to soak up some culture.
“I will be attending this trip with my parents, my brother and also my cousin. All of my three older brothers went to private schools and they went to Italy for their senior trip so that’s what we’re doing for me,” Bouck said. “I will be going to four different towns to museums and seeing artwork and the different parts of the country,” stated Libby.
Some students will be taking a break from the cold weather in Memphis and will be having fun in the sun in the typical Spring Break spot- Florida.
Senior William Beaman will be going to Belleair beach, FL.
“Yes I'm going to be a beach bum for the week,” stated Beaman.
Orlando, Florida also will be the destination for others.
“I will be visiting the aquarium, going to Disney World and Universal Studios,” senior Earon Sheltan stated.
Senior Derrick Hester plans to attend Bike Week there.
While most plan to play the entire time, some students’ vacations hold a double duty. Senior Michael Ware is preparing for a college visit to UT Knoxville, but will also be having on the lake with his family.
Not matter where students are planning to go, the break- whether spent in Italy or Orlando or in one’s own home- is needed.
