The New Principal At Germantown
Everyone’s wondering about Germantown’s new principal and what is in store for Germantown High’s future.
After Dr .Ted Horrell accepted a superintendent position, vice principal Barbara Harmon was recommended to be principal and has applied for the fall principal position.
Germantown’s new principal Barbara T. Harmon has been a faculty member at Germantown High School for thirty-six years, working as a classroom teacher for 19 years before being named as an assistant principal. In 2008, she was named vice principal. Also, she has had three children to graduate from Germantown and lives in the Germantown community.
Harmon intends to keep Germantown the same school that strives for excellence everyday.
“I don’t plan on changing anything about Germantown High; the only thing that will be different is our optional program,” stated Harmon. “We aren’t going to forget about our students that are here already we want them to stay, and we plan on placing them in the best classes possible for them,” said Harmon.
With her experience Mrs. Harmon will be well equipped and prepared on doing her job as principal.
“I believe that Germantown High is going to continue to be the great school that it has always been, except it might just be even better, and I’m looking forward to our future,” Harmon stated.
