In this year’s class of 2015, Vidushi Sinha has proven how hard work can truly pay off. Not everyone has the opportunity to claim the title of their class’s salutatorian; it is a great accomplishment that comes with many perks.
“Senior year has been really great because I’ve had a chance to meet new people and experience new things such as clubs. I’ve really had a chance to put myself out there and give my back to the Germantown community,” said Sinha.
Between grades and extra curricular activities, time management can get a little tedious for our Salutatorian. Motivation is a must in order to push through the strenuous workload.
“I usually put in about 4-5 hours of studying everyday and about 2-3 hours total on the weekend. I want to thank my parents for having faith and confidence in me for believing in me that I’ll do all my work and everything else I need to be successful in school,” said Sinha
Her devotion to her schoolwork has landed Sinha the honor of being only one of 14 students (only seven from outside of Alabama) accepted into the Early Medical School Acceptance Program at University of Alabama Birmingham.
While most of her time was spent on academics, Sinha realized that her time at GHS shouldn’t focus solely on school.
“I was kind of shy my freshman year, but I feel like my social life for the past couple of years have been amazing with my friends, and I don’t regret anything!” Sinha stated.
With her departure from GHS almost here and a bright future ahead, Sinha feels a few things will help any student succeed.
“My biggest advice would be not to be afraid to meet new people, be sure to get involved early to make the most of your time here at GHS, and most importantly to be sure and always put your grades first,” said Sinha.
