In 2015 a lot of repeated trends have reappeared- from the hairstyles to the clothes.
A well-known trend for girls in the summer is box braids, which come in all sizes and lengths. It is where you part your real hair in boxes all over your head and add braiding hair and then form a braid. They are quick and easy, and in most cases are helpful to the hair because you aren’t adding excess heat to it, which some girls do on a daily basis. This super-long, rope-thick style of braids is a direct throwback to the '90s when stars like Janet Jackson, Brandy, and Stacey Dash wore them.
Like girls, boys are also wearing throwback hairstyles. The famous fade haircut originated in the late 1980s early 1990s. A hi-top fade is a style of haircut where hair on the sides is cut off or kept very short while hair on the top of the head is very long. A low fade is a style where hair on the top is kept shorter, mostly seen on celebrities such as Will Smith on “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” and supermodel Grace Jones.
In terms of fashion, crop tops, high waist jeans, colored jeans, and parachute jeans are commonly seen clothing pieces in 2015. All of these items originated in the 1980s and were seen on celebrities like famous pop star Madonna and the cast of the show “Saved By the Bell”.
Flannel shirts also have come back around, and are the perfect accent to a casual outfit it can be worn on or around the waist for casual or dressy wear. Pointy toed heels, also a throwback, are very big and considered a classy shoe in 2015. These two paired together would make the perfect outfit.
Although we may think the latest fashion trends are new, they really aren’t. Most popular items seen today are from the 1980s and 1990s but more modernized to fit the 2015 style.
