Coach Matt Merritt is a brand new Red Devil and coach at Germantown and this 2014-15 school year is his very first year of teaching.
Q: What do you teach?
A: I teach personal finance and world history.
Q: Why did you choose those to teach?
A: Well, history has always been an interest in mine. It’s what I majored in in college. Personal finance is beneficial to real life and helps them be able to keep up with their finances and correct their mistakes.
Q: Which is your favorite to teach?
A: I really enjoy personal finance. It’s a fun subject to teach.
Q: Were you nervous to be a new teacher?
A: Oh yeah, super nervous, especially going into not knowing how to do or rather how the students will react, if they’ll like you or not.
Q: Do you coach anything here at Germantown?
A: Yeah, I coach freshmen football.
Q: Did you used to play football?
A: I I played in high school and a little bit in college.

A: Influencing the younger generation, and hopefully lead them down a good path to be able to be there for them.
